Tim’s Garden Centre has been established in Campbelltown for some 30 years and specialises in selling products, gardening advice and giving back to the community.
Owner/Manager, Tim Pickles, has been offering Year 11 and 12 students, who are studying Primary Industries as part of their Higher School Certificate, weekly work placements in his Garden Centre. In fact, he has offered one placement each week for the last three years. An outstanding contribution!
Tim says “I like to help the community. I might even find a good student to offer a job to. I make friends, meet their families and they even become my customers. They even keep me young.”
Tim also has a message for businesses that aren’t, as yet, a part of the MWLP Linking Youth program.
“Give it a go. Be compassionate and kind. Help them and help yourself. Introduce them to your business and connect with young people. You might find new employees like we have in the past,” adds Tim.
