Macarthur Workplace Learning Program (MWLP) is a dynamic, not-for-profit, organisation dedicated to the youth of Macarthur.

We are the point of contact between 25 Macarthur high schools and the Macarthur business community.  HSC students, studying vocational courses like Business Services, Hospitality, Retail, Construction, Metal and Engineering, Primary Industries, Automotive, Tourism and Information Technology, require one week ‘hands on’ learning in Year 11 and an additional week in Year 12.

WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOUR BUSINESS?

You will have an additional pair of hands to assist you.

It is not Year 10 work experience.

Students are keen to work as they don’t receive their HSC until they successfully complete their ‘hands on’ learning in the workplace.

A student undertaking work placement is the best way to interview.

You choose when you want the student/s.

You may increase or decrease this need at your convenience.

You are under no obligation.

Students are fully insured.

It’s FREE.

You will have access to the workforce of the future.

Be promoted by MWLP as a dynamic organisation supporting youth.
(This could be via local radio C91.3fm, the Macarthur Chronicle, on MWLP promotional material and on the MWLP website.)

Be recognized as a good citizen of our community.

Over 250 companies are currently benefiting from this great program.

Be associated with MWLP – a company dedicated to the youth of Macarthur.

MWLP has assisted 20,000 youth over the past ten years.

MWLP has over 3,000 students to place this year and due to a high demand for these great vocational courses this number will increase next year.

Remember when you were a kid and needed an opportunity to show what you could do?

Give the youth of Macarthur a go!

Without this work placement these students will not pass their HSC.

Apart from providing work placement, business can assist MWLP in the following ways:

•    Allowing young people to have a tour around your workplace.
•    Talking to young people in their school about your company and/or industry.
•    Mock interviews.
•    Attending the Macarthur Area Careers Expo
•    Adopt a School Projects

To find out how your business can become involved please phone MWLP on 4625 1863.
