270 students and teachers had the privilege recently to hear Luke Mangan talk about his career highlights and what motivates him.
The Inspired Series and Hospitality Careers Expo was held at Revesby Workers’ Club on June 25.
Public, Catholic and Independent schools attended from Merrylands, East Hills, Ingleburn, Cecil Hills, Hoxton Park, Canley Vale, Tempe, Beverly Hills, Bankstown, Revesby, Ashfield and more.
Luke Mangan interviewed Darren Foot, Executive Chef, from Revesby Workers’ who told the audience what it was like to work with famous chefs Jamie Oliver and Gordon Ramsey and the amazing places he has travelled throughout his career.

George Papaioannou, Restaurant Manager from Six Penny in Stanmore told of his interesting career change from Accounting to Restaurant Manager.
Ed Camilleri, CEO of Revesby Workers’ spoke of his impressive progression throughout the Club; from Trainee Manager to CEO.
Students then had the opportunity to speak with the Hospitality Industry about careers and courses, including TAFE NSW, HTN, Kenvale College, William Blue College, the Blue Mountains International Hotel School of Management as well as Revesby Workers’.
Feedback from the students was excellent. They were motivated by the day, particularly by the guest speakers.
Luke Mangan said “It was great to get out to Revesby and do an Inspired talk for the school students and to speak to them afterwards about pursuing careers in the hospitality industry.”

The expo was the first of its kind hosted by MWLP Linking Youth. Their Work Placement Manager, Michael Everett, said “The aim of the day was to encourage more students to enter the Hospitality Industry, addressing critical industry shortages and to link HSC students who are studying Hospitality to the industry.”
“It really was an outstanding success” Michael added.
