April 2015 Tyrepower Campbelltown

Congratulations to Tyrepower Campbelltown who has won MWLP Business of the Month for April.

Tyrepower Campbelltown was established in 1997 in Minto and moved to its current premises, in Blaxland Road, in 2000.  It is a family owned business that operates not only a retail tyre outlet but a mechanical workshop as well.

Tyrepower Campbelltown is owned and managed by successful local businessman Garry Foreman who also owns Tint-a-Car and Macarthur Hummers.

Garry is passionate about Macarthur’s youth.  He says “It’s good to be surrounded by young people.  They have a different outlook on life and it’s great to share their knowledge and wisdom.”

That is why he offers Year 11 and 12 students, who are studying Automotive as part of their Higher School Certificate, week-long work placements.  “I find the students have a good mix of talent.  Some of their tasks are observing, takings the nuts and wheels off cars, letting air out of the tyres and fitting tyres.  After their week here the students know how to change a tyre, how to measure pressure and how to recognise a bald tyre.  All important life skills” Garry adds.

He has a message for Macarthur businesses that are not yet involved in the MWLP – Linking Youth program.  “They are crazy! All kids have to learn about business and careers somewhere.  Teach them about your business, teach them your trade and hopefully engage them in the future.”

As this month’s outstanding winner, Tyrepower Campbelltown will receive profiling in the Campbelltown, Camden and Wollondilly editions of the Macarthur Chronicle, one month’s free advertising on C91.3FM, exposure on www.mwlp.com.au and thanks to United Cinemas Narellan, Grand Seating movie tickets.
