Outstanding Business of the Month: Camex-Dendai Auto Electrical & Mechanical
Camex-Dendai has been in business for 33 years. Initially they specialised in exhaust systems. But times and trends have changed and to be competitive they now provide complete auto care with specialists in auto-electrical and air conditioning.
Allan Michell, Director and Owner, is so passionate about his work that his mission is to pass on his vast knowledge and expertise to the youth of Macarthur.
That’s why Camex-Dendai offers to take one MWLP student for hands-on work placement every week. Allan believes “The future of the automotive industry depends on young people being trained and starting at the HSC level, will entice more young people to, hopefully, enter the motor vehicle trades.”
Allan says “The quality of the (MWLP) students is excellent. When interested young people are hosted we put more effort into a greater range of training.”
Allan was so impressed with his most recent student that he nominated him for the Honour Roll. This is a joint initiative between MWLP and MG My Gateway where the top work placement students are given the opportunity to attend an interview for an available apprenticeship or traineeship later in the year.
Allan has a message for Macarthur businesses. “Join the program and you may find a future apprentice”, he says.
As this month’s winner, Camex-Dendai will receive profiling in the Macarthur Chronicle, one month’s free advertising on C91.3FM, exposure on MWLP’s website and thanks to Greater Union Campbelltown, Gold Class movie tickets.
