Outstanding Business of the Month: Campbelltown Frames and Trusses
Campbelltown Frames and Trusses has been offering local high school and TAFE students ‘hands on’ workplace learning opportunities through MWLP since 2001. This highly successful family business has been operating in Macarthur for over 30 years, and often takes on two HSC students per week. This is an excellent contribution to our youth and to our community.
Truss Foreman, Dave Neilson, believes in giving young people the chance to sample the workforce. Students are fully supervised and get involved in making trusses, putting roof packs together, stacking, using staple guns and observing cutting.
Dave is an avid supporter of the MWLP program. “It’s a good way to assess young people and give them the opportunity to sample an occupation before committing to it. I think all Macarthur businesses should become involved. Give it a go. Help our youth to help themselves”, says Dave.
As this month’s winner, Campbelltown Frames & Trusses will receive profiling in the Macarthur Chronicle, one month’s free advertising on C91.3FM, exposure on www.mwlp.com.au and thanks to Event Cinemas Campbelltown, Gold Class movie tickets.
