July 2011 – Campbelltown City Council

Outstanding Business of the Month:  Campbelltown City Council

Campbelltown City Council is a leader in the area of local government and one of the largest employers in the Macarthur region, providing around 1,000 jobs across a variety of service areas, trades and professions.

A primary objective of Council is to encourage local training and employment opportunities across the city and the organisation’s ongoing support of MWLP since 2001 is reflective of this.

Campbelltown City Council understands the importance and value of providing local youth with ‘hands on’ experience in the workforce and offers workplace training opportunities across a range of services and facilities to assist local students in gaining an insight into the workings of a large organisation.

The enthusiasm and  interest shown by the MWLP students is a testament to the positive impact such an experience can have.  Given the many opportunities available across local government, Council is an ideal organisation for students to get a taste of the work environment, providing them with practical knowledge and experience that will assist them in their career choices in the areas of Business Services, Construction, IT and Tourism.

As this month’s outstanding winner, Campbelltown City Council will receive profiling in the Macarthur Chronicle, one month’s free advertising on C91.3FM, exposure on www.mwlp.com.au and thanks to Event Cinemas Campbelltown, Gold Class movie tickets.

Areas of interest other than Business Services, Construction, Information Technology and Toursim are Automotive, Entertainment, Hospitality, Metal & Engineering, Primary Industries and Retail.

It’s a great way to showcase your business and it’s free.
