Congratulations to Carrington Care who has won MWLP’s Business of the Month
Carrington aspires to be the provider of choice for residential aged care, independent living and community care at home. They have been caring for people for over 125 years and their purpose is to help its residents and clients achieve well-being and fullness of life.
Carrington’s passion is not only evident in caring for the aged, they are also amazing supporters of Macarthur’s youth. For the past 10 years they have offered invaluable work placements to Year 11 and 12 students studying Hospitality, Business Services and/or Primary Industries as part of their Higher School Certificate.
Carrington offers students a practical, hands-on insight into the aged care industry and what this industry could offer them in relation to future career prospects.
Katherine Perkins, Organisational Development Coordinator, says, “The majority of students display a very high level of skill and service orientation and they communicate in a thoughtful and meaningful way with our residents. The students use their initiative and are very hardworking and willing to learn. They actively contribute to Carrington achieving its administrative objectives.”
Katherine adds, “Our residents enjoy having the students onsite as this can be seen as a bridge between the generations as not many high school students come into the aged care environment.”
Raad Richards, Chief Executive, strongly recommends other local businesses get involved in the MWLP Linking Youth Program as it can make a difference in the lives of these students. Businesses offering supported work placements in a variety of industries provide opportunity and clarity around career choices and pathways.
To find out how your business can become involved in hosting HSC students for week-long work placements, please phone Peter Miller at MWLP on 4625 1863 or email email@example.com .

It’s a great way to showcase your business and it’s free.
