Showtime Production Services has been servicing the entertainment industry for over 25 years. Located in Moorebank, they specialise in Professional Audio, Intelligent/Stage Lighting, Trussing, Staging, Vision, Control Systems and related products.
They are a highly valued member of the MWLP Linking Youth Work Placement Program offering up to five students every week the opportunity to get ‘hands on’ experience.
Year 11 and 12 students who are studying Entertainment as part of their Higher School Certificate get to test lights, connect and test speakers, bump in and bump out, roll cable, assist with the setup of the show, prep and deprep jobs, load and unload vehicles.
Director, Peter Fimmano, says “It is a great opportunity for us to gauge the student’s interest and for them to connect to the industry. We have had some really good students and have recruited both permanent and casual staff from the program. It is a good way to find up-and-coming talent and if we don’t employ them, we often see them working in other areas of the industry.”Peter adds “I also like the program as the students are a little older than work experience students and already have a good understanding of how our industry works.”
