June 2010 – Marsdens Law Group

Outstanding Business of the Month: Marsdens Law Group

Marsdens Law Group has been in business in Macarthur for over 40 years providing excellent legal services for generations of families. They have always fostered a sense of community and their support of Macarthur is reflected by their support of local organisations such as MWLP. They are proud to play a part in nurturing our future workforce. Marsdens Law Group has been offering MWLP students work placement opportunities since 2000. Their commitment to the youth of Macarthur is outstanding and that’s why they have been chosen as MWLP’s Business of the Month.

Jim Marsden, Senior Partner says “By allowing student placements in our firm, it assists in reinforcing the message that advancement in the workforce does not necessarily mean that you have to travel far to get a ‘good job’.”

Marsdens Law Group tailors the HSC student’s needs according to their interests. Students can choose Legal or Administration paths. Their ‘hands on’ work placement can include filing and photocopying and be extended to attending Family Law Hearings, Criminal Law Hearings or filing documents in the Supreme Court. It’s a wonderful opportunity.

Jim adds “To observe the excitement of someone so young, on the cusp of preparing to enter further education to reach his/her goal, is very rewarding. The majority of students have been a pleasure to host, as they have a sense of purpose and excitement to be entering into a more mature phase in their lives and careers.”

Marsdens Law Group has a message for Macarthur Business – What are you waiting for? Get involved with MWLP. We need to instil a strong sense of work ethic and pride in our youth, whilst they are still shaping their sense of self and by fostering that, we can all reap the benefits when they become our future employees and employers.

As this month’s winner, Marsdens Law Group will receive profiling in the Macarthur Chronicle, one month’s free advertising on C91.3FM, exposure on www.mwlp.com.au and thanks to Event Cinemas Campbelltown, Gold Class movie tickets.
