March 2014 – 32 Degrees Building

32 Degrees Building has been established in Macarthur for some 12 years and specialises in extensions and first floor additions.  They are highly qualified home builders who aim to take away the stress so the customer can look forward to the end result.  Not only are they committed to excellent customer service they are also committed to helping Macarthur’s youth.

Managing Director Alistair Robertson is always on the lookout for good apprentices and by becoming a host of the MWLP program he now has an endless supply of Year 11 and 12 students who are studying Construction as part of their HSC.

The students are not only work-ready; they have their White Card.  They undertake a week long work placement out on site with 32 Degrees Building assisting skilled tradesmen in the demolition and building of the dwelling.  The work is tailored to suit the individual student.

Alistair is a strong advocate of the MWLP program.  He says “MWLP streamlines everything.  They look after all the paperwork.  We are always looking to employ apprentices and being able to assess them on the job for a week is an ideal way to interview. It helps the students attain their HSC as the work placement is compulsory.”

Alistair adds “All companies should get involved.  We need to get young people trained properly in the workforce.  Unfortunately some kids slip through the cracks.  They may not be great at school but could be great with their hands and great with people.  These kids could also make you lots of money.”

As this month’s outstanding winner, 32 Degrees Building will receive profiling in the Campbelltown, Camden and Wollondilly editions of the Macarthur Chronicle, one month’s free advertising on C91.3FM, exposure on and thanks to United Cinemas Narellan, Grand Seating movie tickets.
