Best & Less Macarthur Square have been offering students ‘hands on’ work placement in Retail since 2002.  They offer two placements in their store every week.  This is an outstanding commitment to our local youth.

Julie Bajrami, Assistant Manager, believes the MWLP program is a fantastic way for students to experience life in the workforce.  She says “It gives students an eye opener on what to expect, how to dress and behave and the importance of being punctual.  All students are given an orientation in OH&S and get first-hand experience in unpacking, mark downs, merchandising, assisting on the registers and general housekeeping.”

Julie also believes management and staff get a lot of job satisfaction out of training the work placement students and seeing them walk away with a new set of skills and a little more direction in their career path.  Students who display great dedication and a positive attitude during their work placement have been offered casual work whilst undertaking their HSC.

It’s a win-win situation for both the business and the student.

As this month’s winner, Best & Less Macarthur Square will receive profiling in the Macarthur Chronicle, one month’s free advertising on C91.3FM, exposure on www.mwlp.com.au and thanks to Event Cinemas Campbelltown, Gold Class movie tickets.
