Outstanding Business of the Month: YWCA
YWCA has been offering real ‘hands on’ work placements to Year 11 and 12 students since 2001. The students, who are studying Business Services as part of their HSC, are given a ‘taste of reality’ when they undertake their week long placements in the Campbelltown office.
Alice Roach, Receptionist, ensures the students are treated with respect and trains them in photocopying, filing, faxing, laminating and phone answering techniques. Her passion sees them grow in confidence as they gain new skills. “The program is great for the students and business alike. The students are willing and eager to learn and the business benefits from their enthusiasm”. Alice adds “MWLP takes care of all the paperwork making it easy for your business to get involved”.
YWCA focuses on a variety of programs including Employment Services and Training and In-School support. They help individuals, families and whole communities develop behaviours and skills to become strong and self-reliant and have been part of the Macarthur community for over 10 years.
As this month’s outstanding winner, YWCA will receive profiling in the Macarthur Chronicle, one month’s free advertising on C91.3FM, exposure on www.mwlp.com.au and thanks to United Cinemas Narellan, Grand Seating movie tickets.
