Offshore Carpentry Services has been trading for over 18 years. They specialise in Domestic and Commercial work from backyard pergolas and decks to high rise inner city buildings.
They have been offering one week work placements to Year 11 and 12 students, who are studying Construction as part of their HSC, since 2006. One student every week is given the opportunity to get valuable ‘on the job’ experience. The work is tailored to the individual and includes assisting the Tradesmen, unpacking and packing up tools, passing tools, carrying timber, measuring and nailing.
Director/Owner, Brad Wiggins, enjoys taking on the students. “I like to help the next generation to become skilled tradesmen and women, and also to potentially find new employees for my company. I have already employed four Apprentices from the MWLP-Linking Youth Program”, he said.
“It can be a really rewarding experience to assist somebody to reach their dream career. It is good for the students and we get a free pair of hands to assist our Tradesmen,” adds Brad.
As this month’s outstanding winner, Offshore Carpentry Services will receive profiling in the Campbelltown, Camden and Wollondilly editions of the Macarthur Chronicle, one month’s free advertising on C91.3FM, exposure on www.mwlp.com.au and thanks to United Cinemas Narellan, Grand Seating movie tickets.
