Fly By Fun is one of Australia’s leading national children’s entertainment companies showcasing birthday parties, Christmas parties, weddings, ‘bring your child to work’ days and much more.
Fly By Fun has grown from a ‘one fairy’ business run from home in 2008 to an organisation employing 10 staff and utilising 150 contractors. Last December they hosted some 500+ events.
Sister company Fun Space runs on-site school holiday programs for corporates.
Owner and Chief of Fun Isobel Crumblin is passionate and dedicated to young people and for the past 4 years has been offering valuable work placement opportunities to students who are studying Entertainment and Business Services as part of their Higher School Certificate.
Isobel says “The students are great and helpful to our business. We are a small team so it’s beneficial to have an extra set of hands in busy times. It gives students a sense of reality of what the Events and Business world is all about.”
Their tasks are varied and could consist of preparing Harry Potter Wands, tying ribbon onto Christmas baubles, packing party bags, collecting emails for business development and writing website blogs. They also get to shadow the Warehouse Manager, Marketing Intern and their Chief of Fun.
Isobel has a message for other businesses who are not part of the work placement program “You never know how much you could impact a young person’s life. It’s only a week for the student but that week could make a world of difference to them.”
MWLP CEO Dr David M Williams appreciates the commitment from busy companies like Fly By Fun. He says “We have some 500 businesses that host our students for many different reasons. It is always reassuring to hear how organisations like Fly By Fun are adding such great value to our program. Thanks Isobel and the team.”
Business of the Month winners are promoted on our website, Facebook and LinkedIn. Their article is published in our monthly e-newsletter which is distributed to hundreds of our stakeholders.
Winners also receive a gift voucher valued at $100.
