9.30am – 5.30pm Tuesday, 9.30am – 5.00pm Wednesday, 1.00pm – 9.00pm Thursday to Saturday. Half hour meal break. Student MUST phone host on the Monday of the week prior to the placement to confirm – failure to do so may result in the placement being cancelled. This placement would be suited to a student interested in a career in Hospitality.
Observe and assist chef and kitchen staff with various forms of mise en place, meat, vegetables, desserts, salads, picking garnishes, stock movement & rotation, storage & labelling of items and various cleaning duties.
Chefs hat, main parts of uniform (Chefs jacket & pants) will be supplied, buttons for chefs jackets are required, closed in non slip shoes. Student to bring own tool kit. $3 meals available in staff canteen.
Transport & Location Hint: Hilton Sydney is located steps from Town Hall train station in the CBD and whilst you complete work experience with us we will provide you a complimentary staff meal and a uniform. We do ask that you bring your toolkit, black toe-covered non-slip shoes, and if possible your own Chef’s Hat and buttons.
