2019 placements have commenced with students going out this week 4th Feb 19.
We are looking at a busy year ahead and have some 6000 placements to organise. We are always looking for new hosts so if you know someone who would be willing to take students please let us know.
Our work placement team has been out to some schools already doing work placement readiness talks. This is a great way for teachers to learn about work placement expectations from a different source!
We want to speak to more students at these events and at subject selection nights so parents can gain an understanding as well.
We have some exciting projects on this year related to work placement and Hospitality!
We are working on 10 Long Lunch projects where Michael (our work placement manager and qualified chef) goes into schools and mentors Hospitality students to assist them produce a three course meal for paying customers.
Our first two events have been organised with Thomas Reddall High School 25 & 26 March and John Therry Catholic High School 8 & 9 April.
We have some amazing chef’s and Hospitality hosts who are willing to come to the schools and talk about careers and work with the students. If this is something you would like to do please let Michael know on 0428 935 688.
Another event we are working on is VETsteddFOOD, an event in the Camden LGA aimed at entertaining seniors. Entertainment will be provided by Camden area high schools and the event will be put together by our Vocational, Education and Training (VET) students across as many frameworks as possible. This will result in a two course meal cooked and served by local Hospitality students.
We will be at the Camden Show with a pop up food stall working with local students giving them an amazing real life hospitality experience.
We are really looking forward to these events and working with the amazing young people we have throughout our 70 schools and TAFE’s.
